Overview
In 2012, Attorney Stern earned his M.L.I.S. from the University of Rhode Island. He has since served as Reference Librarian at the Derry Public Library, Director of the Blaisdell Memorial Library in Nottingham, Director of the Derry Public Library, and Interim Director at the John W. King New Hampshire Law Library at the New Hampshire Supreme Court. While Director in Derry, Eric served as the Chair of the New Hampshire Library Association (“NHLA”) Urban Library Administrators Consortium (“ULAC”), and Membership Committee Chair of GMILCS, Inc., spearheading the admission of his hometown library into the now 13-member nonprofit consortium. Under Attorney Stern’s leadership, the Derry Public Library was awarded the coveted New Hampshire Library Trustees Association’s (“NHLTA”) Library of the Year in 2021.
Attorney Stern has worked in libraries throughout his career, performing just about every aspect of library service. From technical services to circulation to reference to directing, there are few who've had more diverse experiences working in New Hampshire’s libraries than Attorney Stern. Coupled with his legal background, this provides him with rare insight, enabling him to advise libraries in all facets of policy and procedure.
